Job Description:

As the Batterysystem mechanical lead, you willbe responsible forallmechanicalaspects of battery systems for X-BAT, the Launch and Recovery Vehicle, and ground equipment. Thisincludesbatteryenclosuredesign,internalcellpackagingand interconnection,qualification, integration, andrelease to manufacturing.

You will help us build a team ofworld-classengineers to support all design needs. A vertically integrated battery pack design will enable top performance, ease of integration, reliability, and rapid supply chain procurement. What you'll do:

  • Define and execute the battery system external enclosure, thermal management and environmental protection for X-BAT, the Launch and Recovery Vehicle, and all ground equipment

  • Design, develop, and integrate internal component packaging and retention, harness and connector integration

  • Tolerance, assembly, and serviceability analysis

  • Ensure system performance and reliabilityismet through rigorousSystem-level shock, vibration, ingress, and thermalverification

  • Root causeinvestigatecomplex problems related to themechanical package, environmental, manufacturing, etc.

  • Provide mentorship, design review, and program execution leadership

  • Work in a fast-paced environment

Required qualifications:

  • You have a B.S. inMechanicalEngineering or equivalent

  • Battery design experience on largeaircraft, or an equivalent power system (rocket, satellite, submarine,automotive,etc.)

  • 5+ years relevant experience

  • Have delivered battery power systems to market

  • Proficient withmechanicalengineering development tools, simulation, and test equipment
