What Value This Role Will Bring
The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in keeping our manufacturing operations moving efficiently while ensuring the quality standards of tools used in mission-critical vehicles remain exceptionally high. Through first article, in-process, and final inspections, this position helps prevent defects, maintain compliance with customer requirements, and ensure only quality products move through production. By verifying piece parts, documenting inspection results, and supporting continuous quality processes, the Quality Inspector directly contributes to DMC's reputation for precision, reliability, and performance..
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined components, tooling, molds, dies, fixtures, and other precision-manufactured parts to ensure compliance with engineering and customer requirements.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, thread gages, pin gages, and surface plates.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, dimensional requirements, and GD&T to verify product conformance.
- Document inspection results, measurements, and quality records accurately and completely.
- Review certificates of conformance, material certifications, and outside processing documentation for completeness and compliance.
- Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances while supporting containment and corrective action activities.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve inspection and quality-related issues.
- Support and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management system requirements.
- Verify manufacturing tolerances and dimensional requirements throughout the production process to ensure only conforming products move forward.
- Maintain inspection equipment, work areas, and quality documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience performing inspection of machined components, tooling, molds, dies, fixtures, or precision manufactured parts.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gages, thread gages, pin gages, and surface plates.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Strong understanding of dimensional inspection techniques and manufacturing tolerances.
- •High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 45 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience conducting first article inspections and documenting inspection results.
- Experience in an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 manufacturing environment.
- Experience reviewing certificates of conformance, material certifications, and outside processing documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
