We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a treasury focus to support cash management, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting activities across Argent’s multi-subsidiary structure. This role is well-suited for a candidate with public accounting experience who is ready to apply strong technical accounting skills in an industry setting, with meaningful exposure to treasury operations and merger-related accounting.

Essential Duties

  • Perform daily cash management activities, including monitoring bank balances, cash positioning, and funding needs across multiple entities
  • Review bank reconciliations for corporate and subsidiary accounts
  • Assist with treasury reporting, liquidity forecasting, and intercompany cash transfers
  • Prepare journal entries and support schedules in accordance with GAAP
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Assist with accounting for acquisitions, including purchase price allocation, opening balance sheet entries, and post-close integration accounting
  • Support internal and external audit requests with clear, well-organized documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve treasury and accounting processes across a multi-subsidiary environment
  • Collaborate with corporate accounting, FP&A, and subsidiary finance teams

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Exposure to treasury functions such as cash management, bank reconciliations, or liquidity reporting
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a multi-entity environment

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA
  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Two or four years of public accounting experience
  • Experience with M&A accounting, including purchase accounting and purchase price allocation
  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, or a regulated industry
