The Security Manager is primarily responsible for leading security operations under the leadership of the SecurityOperations Team Leader across all Life.Church locations, including incident management, volunteer safety teamdevelopment, behavioral and threat assessment initiatives, emergency management planning, physical securityassessments, security audits, and contracted security vendor oversight.
This role supports the team's direction, initiatives, and ministry efforts to achieve outcomes that furtherLife.Church’s mission and reach people for Christ.
What You'll Do
Manage Incident Reporting and Management Assessment
  • Ensure proper follow-up and documentation of incidents that occur at or involve Life.Church.
  • Provide recommendations and guidance for action steps that may be required by Life.Church,partnering with Security Operations, Legal, Risk, and other Central ministries when necessary.
  • Monitor security camera systems and review footage as needed to support incidentinvestigations, verify reported activity, and document evidence.
  • Develop, lead, and manage a Behavioral and Threat Assessment program to identify, monitor,and respond to known or emerging threats against Life.Church campuses, staff, and guests.
  • Periodically review incident report data to identify trends, reduce risk, and providerecommendations to prevent recurrence.
Develop Emergency Management and Safety Training Programs
  • Lead the development, continuous improvement, and management of Emergency ManagementPlans and related safety resources in alignment with Security Operations priorities.
  • Create and manage information documents, training videos, e-learning resources, and in-persontraining initiatives that promote campus safety and preparedness.
  • Ensure new staff members receive emergency management and safety training and that all staffmembers periodically receive ongoing training regarding emergency management plans, securityoperations policies, and related safety resources.
Lead Volunteer Safety Team Development
  • Develop and manage training resources and instruction for volunteer safety teams to equipvolunteers with the skills needed to support a safe church environment.
  • Establish and maintain consistent standards for volunteer safety team roles, responsibilities, andexpectations in alignment with Security Operations priorities in partnership with CentralOperations Ministry Team.
Oversee Physical Security Operations
  • Support the vetting and selection of off-duty law enforcement and licensed security agencies,ensuring compliance with applicable state licensing requirements and Life.Church standards.
  • Oversee contracted security officer vendors across all campuses and locations and assist withphysical security duties when applicable by law and assigned by the Security Operations CentralTeam Leader.
  • Support the implementation of security measures for future locations and portable campuses inpartnership with the Security Operations Central Team Leader, ensuring consistency withLife.Church expectations.
  • Conduct structured campus safety assessments across all locations using field observationsand evaluations to identify gaps, drive corrective action, and support campus accountability.
Skills Needed to Succeed
  • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems with innovation.
  • Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexibleand open to change.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicatedprocesses and foster partnerships.
  • Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide visionto projects.
  • Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and soundjudgement.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of related experience in security operations, physical security management, threatassessment, volunteer program leadership, or a related field; multi-site or enterprise-levelexperience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with behavioral threat assessment methodologies and managing individuals ofconcern preferred.
