Residence Director

The Wellmet Project is a unique program that operates group homes for people with mental illness. We are a transitional housing program, with a length of stay ranging from 6 months to 5 years. Our residents have a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses, but they share the common need for support, companionship, respect, and a commitment to recovery.

While it is not necessary to have a background in Mental Health, if you are heading into the field as a career, you will find no better experience to help you with your education than Wellmet. We offer extensive exposure to various diagnoses and interventions, giving you a broad understanding of mental illness in a humanizing way. This is a live-in, 40 hour/week position.

The major objectives of the Residence Director position are:

to facilitate an environment which is safe; home-like, and conducive to client autonomy and independence

to oversee the day-to-day operation of the residence, to plan and implement, either directly or indirectly, treatment programs for all residents

to provide supervision and guidance to the volunteer staff

to participate in and complete administrative tasks necessary for licensing and basic accountability

to participate in long-term program planning
