Job Description

This role combines inspection and production operator responsibilities within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment that includes stamping and body weld operations. You will collect, sort, stack, and inspect parts as they move through the production process, ensuring quality standards are met while working efficiently within defined cycle times. The position involves handling parts of varying sizes based on production orders and requires consistent adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, and stack parts as they move through the stamping and body weld production processes.
• Handle and process different size parts according to the specific requirements of each production order.
• Perform duties within allotted cycle times and complete allocated parts within the required production timeframe.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of parts to ensure they meet quality and specification standards.
• Use basic hand tools and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions and quality.
• Support quality control and quality inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process.
• Perform spot welding tasks as needed to support production requirements.
• Operate a forklift, if qualified, to move materials and parts safely within the facility.
• Maintain organized and safe stacking and storage of parts to support efficient workflow.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Work on your feet for extended periods and perform repetitive motions as required by the production process.
• Communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions to meet production and quality goals.
• Identify and report any defects, equipment issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Contribute to maintaining a clean and orderly work area in accordance with manufacturing standards.

Essential Skills

• Ability to work safely and consistently in a heavy industrial and loud manufacturing environment.
• Capability to stand and remain on your feet for 8 or more hours per day.
• Comfort with repetitive motion and performing the same tasks throughout the shift.
• Basic production and manufacturing skills, including handling, sorting, and stacking parts.
• Attention to detail for inspection and quality control of parts during the production process.
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers for quality inspection.
• Understanding of basic blueprint or specification reading to support quality inspection tasks.
• Willingness and ability to wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment.
• Reliability in following cycle times and meeting production targets.
• Strong awareness of safety practices in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior manufacturing experience is a strong plus but not required.
• Forklift experience, ideally 2 years, is a plus but not required.
• Experience with spot welding in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
• Back ground in quality control or quality inspection is advantageous.
• Familiarity with general manufacturing processes and equipment is helpful.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment.

Work Environment

The position is based in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility that includes stamping and body weld operations and features a loud, high-volume production setting. You will work on your feet for most or all of your shift and perform repetitive motions as part of the production process. The environment requires strict adherence to safety standards and continuous use of personal protective equipment, including Kevlar sleeves, safety gloves, safety glasses, a safety helmet, a safety face shield, a leather apron, ear and noise protection, and steel toe shoes. Work is performed around industrial machinery and equipment, with frequent handling of metal parts and materials, and may involve spot welding and forklift operations in accordance with safety guidelines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.47 - $26.22/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Long Beach,CA.
