Position: Full-time, with benefits available

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour Shifts (includes nights, days and weekends in rotation)

Starting Pay: $26.09 per hour ($2.50 shift differential and paid overtime), annual incentive plan

We're looking for a Manufacturing (Finishing) Machine Operator to join our Richmond, VA based team.

TheFinishing Machine Operatorwill monitor and operate production equipment and facilities, including field equipment, product manufacturing support and operations support, while ensuring consistent quality and conformance with standard operating procedures.

In this role, the Operator drives accountability, always maintains safety standards, and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary.

Cross-training is an important part of building a strong team and Operators will rotate through trainings and qualifications for a variety of roles within the work area. Roles may include working with processing and manufacturing equipment, working in a control room environment, working in high hazard areas and learning to perform minor repairs to process equipment. Operators are developed and trained in the field and are expected to both work independently and engage in team environments with minimal supervision. This position requires strong communication skills with the ability to share and receive detailed information in both written and oral form, including following written operating procedures. Successful operators will be comfortable receiving coaching, learning to ollow instructions, solve and trouble shoot problems, as well as exhibit strong work ethics.

Qualifications:

The following are required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Willing and able to work a 12-hr rotating shift schedule
  • Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and short notice call-in as required
  • Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toe shoes, hardhat, Nomex® clothing, protective eyewear, face shields, arc protective clothing, rubber acid suits, Respirex hoods and SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus)
  • Willing and able to: lift 10 lbs. frequently, 25 lbs. regularly, 55 lbs. occasionally; climb stairs, ladders, and columns; stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, utilize visual acuity, reach overhead, hear and respond to alarms and alerts
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Willing and able to learn new computer software systems, such as machine operating systems and touch screens interface.

The following skills or experience arepreferred, but not required:

  • 2+ years of chemical process operations experience
  • 3+ years of industrial manufacturing experience (may include related military experience)
  • 3+ years of military experience and training
  • Manufacturing Technician 1 Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing Technology or Industrial field
  • Any mechanical or manufacturing related certification or 3 years equivalent experience in troubleshooting and maintaining process equipment.
