Job Description
  • Ensures conformance with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and practices.
  • Develop new and improved processes to facilitate the manufacturing of current and new hose and hose assemblies.
  • Review, evaluate, and correct manufacturing problem areas relating to the manufacturing of hose and hose assemblies.
  • Maintain manufacturing specifications and initiate product change notices to update material and process changes.
  • Participate in cost reduction programs, including initiating and evaluating cost reduction projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend new vendors or raw materials for improved processing or cost reduction.
  • Assure the manufactured product meets or exceeds the dimensional, functional and material specifications as required by the customer.
  • Communicate with all plant personnel and Technical Center Engineers/Chemists, Customer Service to ensure the goals of FRS are met and exceeded.
  • Actively support Customer APQP teams to help insure the smooth introduction of new parts and products.
  • Attend meetings, writing reports and giving presentations as needed.
  • Ensure that the plant service requirements, provided by the Engineering Group, remains focused toward continuously improving services.
  • Monitor and review capital plans and expense projects for improvement of facilities and services to assure organizational results.
  • Capital and expense projects are assigned or completed as planned in the annual operating plan.
  • Organize, prioritize, and initiate project and service activities according to the annual plan.
  • Keep equipment operational by following manufactures instructions and established procedures; requesting repair service.
  • The position requires contact on a daily basis with internal customers including all managers as well as the immediate supervisor and direct reports. Outside contacts may include other Engineering Managers, vendors, contractors and corporate capital personnel.
  • Drawing up plans using computer-assisted engineering and design software.
  • Estimating materials, construction, and labor costs, and project timeliness.
  • Assist in robotic integration projects. Assist when need on breakdowns.
