We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Plant Scheduler to support manufacturing operations through effective planning, scheduling, inventory management, and engineering process control. This role works collaboratively across multiple departments to establish and maintain engineering and production processes that drive efficiency, accuracy, and quality. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, exercises sound judgment, and can work independently with limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain engineering masters used to generate manufacturing work orders.
- Update machining operation cycle times and maintain process accuracy.
- Schedule, print, and release work orders and supporting documentation to support production schedules.
- Review and verify production paperwork for completeness and accuracy before release.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate vendor-managed inventory programs to ensure material availability.
- Partner with the Methods Department to develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including models, drawings, and inspection records.
- Update part revisions and work orders in the Visual ERP system based on Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
- Review production schedules to verify materials are available and approved by Quality before production.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, reliability, service, availability, and product offerings.
- Collaborate with Quality, Inspection, and suppliers to investigate defective materials, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, inventory management, and manufacturing processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three (3) or more years of experience in material planning, scheduling, process technician work, manufacturing support, or a related field.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, certifications, and experience may be considered.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of Visual ERP systems, work order management, and manufacturing process creation.
- Working knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 requirements.
- Experience with SolidWorks and ERP systems.
- Strong mathematical aptitude, including arithmetic, algebra, geometric calculations, and metric conversions.
