Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Information Security Engineering Manager to lead security engineering efforts in Silver Spring, Maryland. This role oversees the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise security solutions across Microsoft-focused environments while guiding a team of technical specialists. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on knowledge of modern security platforms and a proven ability to strengthen security operations, identity protection, and threat visibility.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and develop a team of security engineers, setting priorities, providing technical direction, and supporting career growth.
• Design, implement, and enhance security controls across Microsoft-based infrastructure, including identity, endpoint, cloud, and monitoring technologies.
• Manage and improve security capabilities related to Active Directory, Intune, Azure AD, Microsoft 365 security tools, and Azure Sentinel.
• Oversee security monitoring and incident detection processes by refining SIEM use cases, alerting strategies, and response coordination.
• Partner with infrastructure, application, and business teams to align security engineering initiatives with organizational risk and operational needs.
• Evaluate existing security architecture and recommend improvements that strengthen enterprise, network, and application security posture.
• Support the rollout, configuration, and ongoing administration of information security technologies to ensure reliable protection and visibility.
• Establish engineering standards, documentation, and best practices to promote consistency, compliance, and effective security operations.• At least 8 years of experience deploying and administering information security technologies in enterprise environments.
• At least 8 years of experience working within Microsoft security ecosystems, including Active Directory, Intune, Azure AD, Azure Sentinel, and Microsoft 365 Security Center.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience leading technical teams and managing the delivery of security engineering work.
• Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity disciplines such as network security, enterprise security, application security, and SIEM administration.
• Strong understanding of threat detection, security operations, and control implementation within complex Microsoft environments.
• One or more relevant certifications such as CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner, ISC2 credentials, EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker, or Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate, or equivalent certifications.
