Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking a versatile BI Data Science Engineer who bridges the gap between enterprise Business Intelligence, data pipeline engineering, and applied data science. In this role, you will be deeply involved in both our core software product and our client-facing reporting operations.

You will maintain and scale our PostgreSQL and MSSQL data warehouse pipelines in Azure, architect dimensional data models, apply predictive and statistical modeling techniques, and build dynamic dashboards directly within our software product and through Power BI/Excel. Additionally, you will partner directly with clients to translate business requirements into key performance indicators (KPIs) and comprehensively document our data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy interactive dashboards and widgets within our product, while creating custom Power BI and Excel reports tailored to client needs.
  • Maintain, monitor, and optimize existing ETL/ELT data warehouse pipelines powered by PostgreSQL and MSSQL in Azure to ensure reliable, high-performing data flows.
  • Apply statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, time-series forecasting, and correlation analyses to surface trends, identify data gaps, and deliver actionable predictive insights.
  • Proactively define, implement, and track meaningful business and operational KPIs that drive decision-making for internal product teams and external clients.
  • Meet with clients to gather reporting requirements, present solutions, and support ongoing analytical needs.
  • Support the end-to-end data lifecycleidentifying and resolving data quality or integrity issues while adhering to best practices in schema design and dimensional modeling.
  • Author complete technical and end-user documentation, including pipeline workflows, version-controlled repository standards, user guides, and a comprehensive dictionary detailing dashboards, charts, and metrics.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3–4 years of experience combining Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and Applied Data Analytics / Data Science.
  • Advanced SQL skills with hands-on PostgreSQL and MSSQL experience in cloud environments (Azure preferred), including writing, tuning, and optimizing complex queries, views, indexes, and stored procedures.
  • Solid Python proficiency for data manipulation, exploratory data analysis, pipeline automation, and statistical/forecasting modeling (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, stats-models).
  • Expert proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modeling) and advanced Microsoft Excel (functions, Power Query, dynamic reporting).
  • Working familiarity with React (for front-end dashboard/widget integration) and .NET (for back-end service integration).
  • Strong Git experience for managing database migrations, Python pipelines, and application codebase integration.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable translating complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders, leading client discovery sessions, and writing clean technical documentation.

Tech Stack

  • Databases & Cloud: PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Azure
  • BI & Reporting: Power BI, Microsoft Excel
  • Languages & Tools: Python, SQL, Git
  • Application Frameworks: React, .NET (familiarity)
