Step Into the Pressroom
At our Ripon, WI facility, you’ll be the first-line leader guiding a high-performance team through a fast-paced, high-volume stamping press operation. Beginning each weekend shift at 5:00pm, you set the tone for safety, quality, and outputkeeping production flowing until 5:00am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Additional workdays may be scheduled as needs arise.
A Day (and Night) in This Role
You kick off with a safety huddle, confirm PPE use, and review production targets. On the floor, you’re coordinating work across presses, reallocating manpower to optimize machine utilization, and jumping in to remove bottlenecks. A near-miss triggers an immediate root-cause investigation. A quality hold? You team up with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to get parts moving againon time and within spec.
How You Lead
- Safety first: Enforce policies, conduct audits, and respond rapidly to incidents or unsafe conditions.
- Servant leadership: Coach, empower, and recognize operators and technicians; create a respectful, inclusive culture where every idea matters.
- People development: Train, mentor, and evaluate skills; drive cross-training; oversee attendance and conduct; serve as the first point of contact for employee relations; collaborate with Union Stewards on contract and discipline matters.
What You Drive
- Production execution: Lead the stamping press department to hit aggressive throughput, quality, and delivery goals in a dynamic environment.
- Continuous improvement: Champion 5S, Kaizen, and Lean initiatives; analyze downtime, scrap, and bottlenecks; implement countermeasures with cross-functional partners.
- Communication & reporting: Keep precise production, quality, and safety records; report KPIs to management; coordinate quickly across departments to resolve issues under tight timelines.
What You Bring
- Proven servant-leadership approach and the ability to motivate teams.
- 1–3 years in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing; prior supervisory experienceideally in high-volume stamping press operations.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Bachelor’s in Business, Manufacturing Engineering, or Operations preferred. Relevant internships, co-ops, or professional experience considered.
Physical Requirements
- Stooping, bending, and prolonged standing; manual dexterity; ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
