Stardom Employment Consultants is partnering with an established organization seeking an experienced Group Controller to oversee accounting operations and financial reporting across multiple entities or business units.
This is a senior-level accounting leadership opportunity for someone with strong multi-entity accounting experience, financial reporting expertise, and a proven ability to lead accounting teams while partnering closely with executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting operations across multiple entities, companies, or business units
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and management reports
- Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations
- Ensure accurate general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and financial analysis
- Analyze financial results, trends, and budget-to-actual variances
- Partner with executive leadership on financial performance and strategic initiatives
- Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external auditors and tax professionals
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards
- Oversee cash management and working capital activities
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
- Improve accounting systems, reporting processes, and operational efficiencies
- Support acquisitions, integrations, or new business entities as the organization grows
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred
- Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership experience
- Strong multi-entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and general ledger accounting
- Experience leading month-end and year-end close
- Experience managing and developing accounting teams
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis experience
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
- CPA or CMA preferred, but not required
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
