Medical Assistant (Full-Time / Part-Time)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by seamlessly balancing clinical duties and administrative tasks. You will work closely with our physicians and nursing staff to ensure a smooth, efficient, and welcoming experience for every patient.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support:
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking and recording vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature).
- Document accurate patient medical histories, symptoms, and reasons for visit in the EHR system.
- Assist physicians during examinations, minor surgical procedures, and treatments.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, collect and prepare specimens, and perform phlebotomy as needed.
- Administer injections, immunizations, and medications strictly as directed by the physician.
- Sterilize medical instruments, sanitize exam rooms, and maintain clinical supply inventory.
Administrative Duties:
- Welcome patients warmly upon arrival and manage the check-in/check-out process.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the daily clinic calendar.
- Answer phone inquiries, route calls, and relay accurate messages to medical staff.
- Maintain, update, and file electronic health records (EHR) with high accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with medical billing, insurance verification, and processing prior authorizations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred (or required if applicable).
- Experience: [1] years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred (New graduates welcome to apply!).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks) and basic computer skills.
- Core Competencies: Strong communication skills, empathy for patients, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
