Mechanical Engineer

Our client, a rapidly growing manufacturer of custom machinery serving customers worldwide, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in the Holland, Michigan area.

The ideal Mechanical Engineer will have strong mechanical design experience, proficiency in SolidWorks, and the ability to develop cost-effective, manufacturable solutions for custom machinery and equipment.
Key Focus
Design and develop mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and liquid processing systems using SolidWorks while collaborating with manufacturing and operations teams to ensure equipment performance, manufacturability, and compliance with applicable safety standards.
What You'll Do
- Research, plan, and design mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, and liquid processing systems using SolidWorks.
- Create detailed 3D assembly models, approval prints, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
- Analyze equipment specifications and performance requirements to develop cost-effective, manufacturable designs.
- Evaluate the feasibility of new equipment designs and modifications to existing systems.
- Utilize FEA and CFD tools, including SolidWorks Simulation, to validate and refine designs.
- Evaluate field installations and make design modifications to improve equipment performance and integration.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, safety standards, and regulations, including ANSI and OSHA.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to evaluate equipment fit, form, and function relative to adjacent systems and components.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; Associate's degree or 3+ years of relevant experience considered.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of engineering principles, building materials, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with FEA and CFD tools to test and refine designs.
- Ability to develop practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable mechanical designs.
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
