Folder Operator

Kelly Services is hiring an experienced Folder Operator for a manufacturing opportunity in Hartland, WI.

Pay:$22–$27/hour, based on experience

As a Folder Operator, you’ll set up, program, and operate folding equipment used to manufacture precision production parts.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and routings

• Set up, program, and operate metal folding equipment

• Position and accurately orient workpieces in machines

• Adjust machine settings based on part specifications and material requirements

• Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and finished-part accuracy

• Perform basic shop math and metric conversions

• Work with a variety of materials and part configurations

• Monitor finished parts for proper angles, dimensions, and overall quality

• Make equipment or setup adjustments when parts are outside specification

• Follow established production and quality procedures

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Follow all company safety requirements and proper machine operating procedures

• Communicate with coworkers and supervisors regarding job requirements, quality concerns, or production issues

You may be a strong fit if you have:

• 2+ years of manufacturing, fabrication, or machine-operation experience

• Experience setting up or operating folding, forming, press brake, or similar fabrication equipment

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical specifications

• Strong basic shop math skills

• Ability to perform metric conversions

• Experience using precision measuring equipment

• Ability to accurately position and orient parts during production

• Strong attention to detail and quality

• Good mechanical aptitude

• Ability to work independently while also supporting a production team

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience with any of the following is especially valuable:

• Schroder folding machines

• Fasti folding machines

• Roper Whitney folding machines

• CNC or programmable folding equipment

• Sheet metal fabrication

• Press brake operation

• Programming fabrication equipment

• Working with multiple types and thicknesses of material

• Precision metal forming

Experience with these specific machines is helpful, but candidates with comparable folding or metal-forming experience are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should be comfortable:

• Standing for extended periods

• Frequently handling parts and materials

• Bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and working around manufacturing equipment

• Using foot controls to operate machinery

• Frequently pushing, pulling, or moving materials up to approximately 25 lbs.

• Occasionally moving materials up to approximately 50 lbs.

• Working in a manufacturing environment around moving equipment, noise, and occasional fumes or airborne particles

• Wearing required PPE
