Job Description

Job Description

Build a Business. Develop as a Leader. Make an Impact.

Are you competitive, entrepreneurial, coachable, self-disciplined, and motivated by helping clients build financial security?

New York Life is looking for driven professionals who want more than their next job. This is an opportunity to build a career in financial services with the training, resources, mentorship, and brand strength of a Fortune 100 company behind you.

You’ll begin as a Financial Professional, developing the skills and experience to build a client-based practice. From there, you can pursue a path toward becoming an Investment Advisor or, for those with leadership aspirations, work toward New York Life’s Associate Partner training program and a career developing and leading other financial professionals.

Who We’re Looking For

Successful candidates often come from backgrounds in:

  • Sales or business development
  • Entrepreneurship or business ownership
  • Management or team leadership
  • Coaching, recruiting, or talent development
  • Client-facing professional services

Financial services experience is not required. We are more interested in your track record, mindset, ability to build relationships, and willingness to learn.

A bachelor’s or MBA degree is preferred but not required.

As a Financial Professional, you’ll learn how to:

  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Understand clients’ financial goals and needs
  • Develop personalized financial strategies utilizing appropriate insurance and financial products
  • Build your business through networking, referrals, prospecting, and community relationships
  • Use CRM technology, including Salesforce, to manage your pipeline and client activity
  • Complete required licensing and achieve key development milestones
  • Develop the skills necessary to build a sustainable, long-term financial services practice

This opportunity offers multiple paths for growth.

Advisor Path
For those who want to deepen their work with clients, New York Life provides training and education to help qualified Financial Professionals pursue the appropriate securities licenses and develop toward a registered investment advisory career with our investment advisory division, Eagle Strategies .

Leadership Path
For those interested in building and leading teams, qualified Financial Professionals may have the opportunity to enter New York Life’s Associate Partner training program, an intensive development program designed to prepare candidates for management responsibilities, including recruiting, coaching, and developing Financial Professionals.

Training & Development support includes:

  • Structured training from the beginning of your career
  • Hands-on coaching and mentorship
  • Sales, communication, and business-development training
  • Licensing support and education
  • Leadership development opportunities
  • Access to New York Life’s resources, technology, and support network

Compensation & Benefits

This is a performance-driven career with compensation tied to individual production and results, in other words, commission based.

  • Target first year compensation range: $75,000–$140,000 annually, with opportunity to grow year over year
  • W-2 training allowance for eligible candidates
  • Benefits may include medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) matching and retirement benefits
  • Pension eligibility
  • Life insurance
  • Paid training and other benefits based on eligibility

This Opportunity May Be a Strong Fit If You:

  • Want to build a career rather than simply take another job
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset and enjoy creating opportunities
  • Are comfortable prospecting, networking, and developing new relationships
  • Are competitive and motivated by measurable goals
  • Respond well to coaching and accountability
  • Want your income potential to reflect your performance
  • Enjoy helping people make important financial decisions
  • Have an interest in eventually leading, coaching, or developing others
