Refrigeration Service Technician

Location:Birmingham, AL
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (must be willing to work OT as needed)

About the Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Refrigeration Service Technician to join a growing service team. This position involves traveling to customer locations, typically within a one-hour radius of the home office, to diagnose, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration systems

• Service and maintain HVAC equipment

• Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections

• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control-related issues

• Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics

• Complete service reports and required documentation

• Provide professional customer service on-site

• Participate in an on-call rotation approximately once every 5 weeks

• Travel locally to customer locations throughout the service area

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of commercial refrigeration experience

• Experience servicing commercial refrigeration units and HVAC systems

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities

• Knowledge of low- and high-voltage electrical circuits

• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics

• Universal EPA Certification required

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds

• Ability to safely carry and climb ladders

• Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

• Chiller experience

• Controls experience

• Ultra-low temperature or scientific refrigeration experience

• Commercial or industrial refrigeration background
