Job Description
We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support a non-profit organization through a Contract position based in Okemos, Michigan. This role focuses on interpreting financial data, building practical models, and delivering insights that help leaders make informed decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex findings into clear recommendations.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze financial results and trends to provide meaningful insight for planning, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
• Develop and maintain financial models that support budgeting, scenario evaluation, and long-range analysis.
• Perform targeted ad hoc analyses in response to leadership questions, funding considerations, and changing business needs.
• Compare actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key variances and explaining underlying drivers.
• Gather, organize, and interpret large data sets using effective data mining techniques to uncover patterns and opportunities.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and summaries that communicate financial performance clearly to stakeholders.
• Partner with internal teams to improve the accuracy of financial information and strengthen reporting processes.• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis within a detail-oriented business environment.
• Proven ability to create and refine financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and strategic evaluation.
• Strong background in ad hoc analysis with the ability to respond quickly to evolving priorities.
• Experience performing variance analysis and presenting findings in a clear, actionable manner.
• Proficiency in data mining techniques and working with complex financial or operational data sets.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with cross-functional stakeholders.
