The Electrical Helper in industrial electrical work is a skilled support professional who assists electricians and lead technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of conduit, cable trays, and industrial wiring systems
- Install underground duct bank conduit systems
- Pull, route, and secure electrical cables
- Support installation of motors, control panels, transformers, and switchgear
- Use and maintain hand tools and power tools properly
- Read basic blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety regulations
- Perform basic troubleshooting under supervision
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices
- Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments (lifting, climbing, bending)
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory and components
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in industrial or commercial electrical work
- Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code)
- Ability to operate lifts or other site equipment
