Compass Studio Tile & Flooring, serving the Annapolis area since 1978, is looking for an experienced flooring and/or tile salesperson who wants the opportunity to build their own book of business and grow into sales management.

This position starts with sales. You'll develop new business, build customer relationships, measure and estimate projects, assist with product selections, close sales, and manage your customers through the sales process.

REQUIRED: Previous flooring and/or tile industry experience. Applicants without relevant flooring, tile, or closely related industry experience will not be considered.

As you demonstrate success and learn our business, the position is designed to grow into recruiting, training, and managing an outside sales team.

What You'll Do

• Generate leads and develop your own book of business
• Build relationships with designers, property managers, realtors, general contractors, commercial accounts, multifamily properties, homeowners, and other local professionals
• Measure and estimate flooring and tile projects
• Assist customers with product selections
• Prepare proposals, follow up, and close sales
• Manage customer relationships through project completion
• Develop repeat and referral business
• Eventually help recruit, train, and manage additional outside salespeople

This is a proactive outside sales position. Our established Annapolis showroom, extensive product selection, operations team, and installation capabilities are resources to help you sell, but this position is built around developing new business rather than relying on showroom walk-in leads.

What We're Looking For

• 1–3+ years of flooring and/or tile industry experience
• Experience with measuring, estimating, products, and installation
• Sales and customer-service experience
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-up
• Self-motivated and comfortable developing new business
• Reliable vehicle, phone, and laptop
• Ability to travel approximately one hour from Annapolis
• Ability to carry samples and lift approximately 25–50 lbs. when necessary
• Previous management experience is helpful but not required. We're looking for someone who can first become a successful producer and then learn how to develop and lead other salespeople.

Compensation & Benefits

• Full-time W-2 position
• Guaranteed compensation during the initial 60-day training and portfolio-building period
• Performance bonus opportunity during training
