Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking experienced Forklift Mechanics to support a high-volume Pepsi distribution facility with over 350 Material Handling Equipment (MHE) units on site. This role is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing repairs on a wide variety of electric and propane-powered material handling equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic abilities, hands-on experience working with MHE on a daily basis, and excellent communication skills to coordinate repairs with operators and site leadership.

• Perform preventative maintenance on electric and propane-powered forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and fuel system issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment faults including battery connectors, switch failures, wheel bearing issues, fault codes, and other operational concerns.
• Repair and maintain electric forklift systems, including:
  • Batteries and chargers
  • Controllers and contactors
  • Sensors and wiring harnesses
  • Drive motors and electrical components
• Repair propane-powered forklifts, including ignition systems, fuel systems, and engine components.
• Inspect, repair, and replace:
  • Brakes
  • Steering components
  • Mast assemblies
  • Lift chains
  • Bearings
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Motors and related components
• Disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment as needed.
• Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status using a company-provided tablet.
• Communicate with operators and site personnel regarding equipment downtime and repair timelines.
• Follow all safety procedures related to equipment operation, battery handling, and shop activities.

• 3+ years of experience as a Forklift Mechanic, MHE Technician, or related maintenance role.
• Proven experience performing routine maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working with:
  • Toyota MHE systems
  • Crown equipment
  • FLUX battery systems
• Knowledge of propane, electric, and battery-operated forklift platforms.
• Ability to use tablets or mobile devices for maintenance documentation.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Understanding of safety procedures for battery handling and industrial maintenance environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
