Position: Fractional Controller

GSI Diversified is a holding company located in Shrewsbury, MO. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Fractional Controller to oversee the accounting and financial functions of our diversified group of operating companies.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working closely with ownership and operating leaders in a small-to-mid-sized business environment. We are looking for someone who can ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial information while also helping management understand what the numbers mean and what actions we should take as a result.

The Controller will report directly to the President and will have significant responsibility and autonomy over the financial function.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and year-end financial close process
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting
• Maintain accurate account reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Manage and forecast company cash flow and banking activity
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Establish, document and maintain appropriate internal accounting controls
• Monitor inventory levels, valuation, adjustments and working-capital trends
• Develop and analyze budgets
• Identify financial trends, risks and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to management
• Oversee payroll and benefits administration from a financial/control perspective
• Coordinate tax compliance and year-end activities with outside accounting professionals
• Support financial due diligence and analysis related to potential acquisitions
• Serve as a financial resource to the President and operating-company leaders

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Accounting experience with demonstrated Controller-level responsibility
• Experience managing month-end and year-end close
• Strong understanding of internal controls, cash management, AP, AR and working capital
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Excel skills
• Experience working with ERP/accounting systems
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the financial function
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial managers
• CPA preferred but not required
• Experience with manufacturing and/or distribution businesses is a plus
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus

Schedule

This is an in office, part-time position averaging approximately 24 hours per week. We offer flexibility in establishing the regular work schedule; however, the successful candidate must have reasonable flexibility to accommodate month-end/year-end close, deadlines and other time-sensitive business needs.
