Leading U.S. engineering consulting firm is seeking a Traffic Engineer for their Milwaukee office!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare/oversee traffic impact analysis studies, transportation planning studies, traffic signal design and timings, microsimulation and modeling services, roundabout feasibility studies, parking studies, and safety studies for public and private-sector clients
- Manage traffic engineering projects (scope development, budgeting, scheduling, coordination, project delivery, and financial performance)
- Mentor/train junior staff (provide day-to-day guidance and quality control reviews)
- Support proposal preparation, client development, and strategic business development pursuits
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation or traffic engineering
- 5+ years of relevant traffic engineering experience
- Professional Engineer registration
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and/or Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification preferred
- Project management experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiplecomplex assignments andestablishpriorities
- Proficient in Highway Capacity Software (HCS), SYNCHRO / SimTraffic,including the ability to guide staff and review technical work
- Experience with VISSIM, IHSDM and AutoCAD preferred
- Familiar with traffic engineering guidelines, including: DOT, ITE, FHWA, AASHTO, and MUTCD publications for preparation of traffic studies
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop andmaintainproductive relationships with public and private-sector clients, agency staff, peers, management, and project stakeholders
- Experience supporting proposal preparation, client development, and business development efforts is preferred
