Warehouse/Geotech – Core Processing
Pay Rate: $25.00
Primarilywill be responsible for processing coresamples from the exploration drilling program.Will collaborate with theGeologiston site to prioritize tasks.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Core management – checking run markers,labelling,andorderingboxes and samplegroups.Inform the geology team of any problems with the core or with the core processing procedures.Coresampling, labeling, ordering, and recording inventory information.
- Drill core sawing and/or drill core hydraulic splitting. Sample intervals are guided by the geologist's listed instructions.
- Markidentification onsample bags according to Geologist's sample listed instruction.
- Sampled intervals of one-half or one-quarter core returned to core boxes and sample bags guided by the marked geologist's listed instructions.
- Sample core boxesordered andmoved to pallet storageand grouping sample bagsfor truck transfer.
- General housekeeping of the corewarehouse work area and maintaininga tidy workplace.
- Other duties around thewarehouseas required.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
- Self-motivated,dependable,strong attention to details,andademonstrated commitment to safety, environment, and community.
- Goodverbal and writtencommunicationandliteracy skills.
- Using required hearingPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearingprotection, face,eye,and foot protection (steel toeboots).
- Knowledge ofExceldatabases is considered an asset.
- Able to stand while working forextended periodsand able to lift and carry core boxes and bags of samples (up to65 lbs.).
- Bending,lifting,and placingmaterials to andfrom table, cart,roller,andwarehousefloor.
- Safely operating apallet jack and/orforklift to arrange loaded pallets and load pallets onto the truckbed.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Acurrent,validNVdriver’slicenseis an asset.
- Previous work experience in the exploration/mining industry is an asset.
