In this role, the Registered Nurse is responsible forimplementing established procedures for the provision of nursing care and delegating medical care and nursing functions to other authorized staff. The Registered Nurse may assign and supervise the performance of nursing tasks done by authorized staff and implement condition-specific protocols. In carrying out the position’s requirements, confidential working relationships with leadership, clinical staff, administrative staff, and guests must be maintained. Must follow all state and federal guidelines, exercise sound judgment and discretion, demonstrateinitiative, trustworthiness, cooperation, and dependability while performing assigned tasks and responsibilities.

Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 Hourly
Shift: Full-Time, 2nd shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm

• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
• Provide appropriate nursingservices and education to clients/patients.
• Observe, record, and reports to the appropriate personany symptoms, reactionsand changes in a client’s condition.
• Chart nursing notes in an informative and descriptive manner reflecting the care provided and the response to that care.
• Assess and monitorpatients with substance abuse history.
• Perform initial, routineand emergency medical and mental health assessments.
• Obtains blood specimens by performing venipunctures
• Perform intakeadmissions for patients to include vitals, strip searchingand nursing assessment.
• Obtain, records and reportsvital signs as indicatedduring the administration of medications and takes appropriate actionfor abnormal results.
• Receives and transcribes physicianorder to patient charts.
• Accurately records the administration of medication for patients as prescribed bythe physicians in accordance withestablished policies and procedures. Provides and promotes patients’ rights during the administration of medication.
• Observe, monitorand recordssymptoms and conditions of the patients with substance abuse that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug interactionsor medication side- affects.
• Routinely inspect, clean and monitor equipment and supplies to ensure patient safety. Reports any equipment or supply issues to management for correction or repair.
• Demonstrate awareness of proper infection control practice by using Universal Precautions and following policies and procedures of the Company, including OSHA’s Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and PPE standards.
• Utilize EMR medical charting system to record medication information, vital signs, and communicate with clinical staff.
• Participate in report and shift change. Record relevant information in the Nurse’s Pass Down Log (PDL).
• Complete nursing assessments.
• Obtain patient’shistory on admission to facility per COMAR.
• Maintains compliance with applicable State Regulations.
• Routinely reads and responds to e-mails.
• Mustbe able to respond to emergency situations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor or Lead Nurse.

Log (PDL).

• Complete nursing assessments.
• Obtain patient’s history on admission to facility per COMAR.
• Maintains compliance with applicable State Regulations.
• Routinely reads and responds to e-mail

Required SkillsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

• Must document 12 hours of training in co-occurring mental health problems and chemical abuse of dependency that includes competencies related to philosophy, screening, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, documentation, programming, medication, collaboration, mental health consultation, discharge planning.
• Know and understand the implications of all Minnesota Department of Health regulations.
• Knowledge of:
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA)
  • Technology proficiency with various software packages including EHR/EMR and keyboarding skills

Licenses:

• Valid RN License
• CPR/ First Aide Certified

Experience:

• Minimum 1 yr experience in a chemical dependency facility
