Security Specialist

Market of Choice is seeking a full-time Security Specialist.

This position will join our Market of Choice Loss Prevention Team. As a Security Specialist, the ideal candidate will be familiar with the operations/implementation of general security functions, will have previous customer service experience and will focus on employee and customer safety.

DUTIES

As a Security Specialist, some of your job duties will include:

• Act as a visual deterrent for criminal activity in the store
• Partner with Store Management to determine the safest approach in dealing with criminal activity or disruptions in the business
• Have the ability to de-escalate tense confrontations through the use of superior customer service
• Observe and report unsafe activities and conditions
• Help create a pleasant in-store atmosphere for our customers
• Implement store policies and keep secure records
• Perform tasks as directed by the Loss Prevention department

QUALIFICATIONSRequired:

• Valid OR drivers license and reliable transportation
• Professional, courteous, and calm attitude
• Excellent observation and planning skills
• Ability to think clearly under pressure
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic knowledge of local & state laws
• 18 years or older

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency using MS Office
• Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in security
• Applicants must be available for weekends, after hours, and occasional out of town and overnight work.
