FellowshipLIFE is looking for an experiencedSenior Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys digging into financials, solving problems, improving processes, and helping others succeed.
Reporting to theDirector of Finance, you'll support the financial operations of our Life Plan Communities and affiliated businesses across New Jersey while serving as a key technical resource for the accounting team.
What You'll Do
- Oversee accounting and budget activities for assigned FellowshipLIFE communities.
- Review P&L statements, balance sheets, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, work review, and mentoring to 1–2 accounting team members.
- Manage accounting related to resident revenue, entrance fees, deferred revenue, healthcare revenue, and ancillary services.
- Prepare financial analysis, including occupancy, payer mix, aging, revenue trends, and management reporting.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Partner with operational leaders to understand financial results and improve reporting.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, annual audits, and regulatory reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, documentation, and efficiency.
- Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives with the Director of Finance.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree inAccounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge ofGAAP, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and audit schedules.
- AdvancedMicrosoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in a multi-entity environment;senior living, healthcare, real estate, or nonprofit experience is a plus.
- Entrance fee, deferred revenue, amortization, or contract-based accounting experience is highly valued.
- Ability to periodically travel to FellowshipLIFE communities throughout New Jersey.
