Lead Medical Assistant

The Lead MA works to oversee and help lead the daily operations of the Medical Assistants (MAs) in their clinic location. This role ensures quality patient care, adherence to clinical standards, and compliance with organizational policies. The Lead MA is expected to keep staff up to standards and floor protocols, help float and keep up with time management on the floor as well as assist with other clinic operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Floor Scheduling & Staffing

• Manage weekly MA floor schedules for the office, ensuring proper coverage for each doctor.
• Help update and adjust daily floor assignments.
• Communicate with office leadership regarding staffing changes, call-ins, and schedule adjustments.

Clinical Support & MA Oversight

• Assist with duties of the medical assistant role and provide clinical support when needed
• Ensure proper training of new employees and oversight on experienced employees
• Communicate with their supervisor on concerns and problems on the floor

Clinic Inventory & Management

• Help manage inventory and oversee supply ordering
• Help with vaccine inventory and management, including direct communication with the managing and ordering supervisor

Expectations

• The lead MA is first and foremost still expected to be on the floor working directly with the doctors and patients
• The lead MA should adhere to all office policies and be an example for the other MAs
