These positions are contingent upon contract award and are ideal for skilled HVAC professionals who excel at troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.

What You'll Do

As a Commercial HVAC Technician, you will perform a wide range of commercial HVAC maintenance, repair, and installation activities, including:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment independently.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
  • Maintain and repair DX (direct expansion), hydronic, and air distribution systems.
  • Install, inspect, and repair compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, motors, controls, valves, and associated equipment.
  • Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and electronic control systems.
  • Monitor building HVAC performance and ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Perform ductwork fabrication, assembly, and installation as required.
  • Identify equipment issues and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Support customers and facility stakeholders by responding to service requests in a professional manner.
  • Travel between facilities as needed to perform assigned work.
Required Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must possess:

  • TDLR Class A or Class B HVAC License
  • Universal EPA Certification
  • Combined "C" Endorsement
  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC equipment
  • Experience with commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration theory and HVAC controls
  • Experience reading mechanical and electrical blueprints and schematics
  • Strong understanding of HVAC safety practices, environmental regulations, and indoor air quality requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between work locations
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical or vocational HVAC training preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

• Maneuvering to, in, and around equipment
• Bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching
• Climbing stepstools or ladders.
• Lifting and moving heavy equipment up to 35 pounds
• Climbing ladders to gain access to rooftop equipment
• Monitoring computer systems and control displays

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed at a customer’s location in office, shop, warehouse, or outdoor environment. May require driving to and from worksite locations. Equipment can be located in crawl spaces, rooftops, and outside facility. Employees may be exposed to hazardous and/or toxic substances, electrical shock, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
