Your travel will consist of short, targeted 2-to-3-day startup trips rather than endless weeks on the road.Financially, this role goes far beyond the $100K – $130K base salary. The client offers straight "premium time" paying 1.25x your hourly rate for all overtime hours worked. Additionally, they distribute highly lucrative Christmas bonuses, which have historically ranged from an extra two weeks' pay up to a full extra month's salary.

The Role
This is a highly flexible, primary robotics role with crucial cross-functional duties. You will act as a technical authority during the sales cycle and the lead programmer during execution.

Pre-Sales Engineering: Collaborate with Sales and Mechanical Design teams to assess customer systems, conceptualize robotic cell designs, and confidently tell the customer, "This is what you need to make this task happen."

Ground-Up System Design: Design cells including end-of-arm tooling, fixtures, conveyances, safety equipment, and other essential components.

Scratch Programming: Write robot programs from scratch, executing robot setups from system defaults, configuring tool data, frame data, and TCP.

Vision Integration: Implement and calibrate machine vision on robot tooling and fixed cameras.

PLC Handshaking: While primarily a robotics role, you will integrate deeply with PLC programming, defining necessary triggers, establishing handshakes, and prepping the PLC for next-action sequences.

Staging & Startup: Implement and thoroughly test robot cells during staging at the client facility, followed by following the equipment into the field for efficient onsite startup and occasional service/recovery support.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME).

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in Robotics Engineering, specifically designing systems from the ground up.

Robotics Expertise: Heavy experience with FANUC robots is required; experience with KUKA, ABB, or Motoman is a strong plus. RIA Expert Certification is highly preferred.

Cross-Functional Skills: Strong capability in PLC programming and integration (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Beckhoff, or B&R is a plus).

Design Tools: Experience with SolidWorks and ROBOGUIDE simulation software is preferred.

Logistics: Must be comfortable with 20% – 25% travel (primarily short 2-3 day trips).

Work Authorization: Due to defense contractor projects, candidates must be U.S. Citizens.
