Entry-Level I&E Technician – Power Plant / Chiller Systems

Location: Houston Medical Center Area
Shift: Day Shift | Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay: $22–$26/hr, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Overtime Available
Project: Long-Term / Annual Project

We are seeking an Entry-Level Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician to join a team supporting power plant and central utility operations in the Houston Medical Center area.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic electrical, instrumentation, HVAC controls, or industrial maintenance knowledge who wants to build a career in I&E. You do not need to be a seasoned I&E Technicianwe are looking for someone mechanically inclined, dependable, safety-minded, and ready to learn.

What You'll Be Working Around

• Power generation and central utility equipment
• Industrial chillers and cooling systems
• Pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment
• Electrical and instrumentation systems
• Control panels and electrical components
• Temperature, pressure, and flow instrumentation
• Building and plant control systems
• Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting

Job Duties

• Assist experienced technicians with electrical and instrumentation maintenance
• Perform basic troubleshooting on electrical and control systems
• Assist with testing, calibration, and replacement of instruments and components
• Use basic electrical testing equipment, including multimeters
• Assist with wiring, terminations, control panels, motors, sensors, and switches
• Support preventive maintenance on chillers, pumps, motors, and plant equipment
• Read basic electrical diagrams, schematics, and equipment documentation
• Document maintenance and repair activities
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all facility and company safety procedures

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
• Electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, controls, industrial maintenance, or mechanical training is preferred
• Technical school, trade school, or related certification is a plus
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and hand/power tools
• Ability to use or learn to use a multimeter and other testing equipment
• Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work around industrial equipment, chillers, pumps, and electrical systems
• Dependable transportation and reliable attendance
• Willingness to learn and develop I&E skills
