Production Associate

Job Type:Temp-to-Hire
Schedule:Monday–Friday, 6:15 AM–2:45 PM
Pay Rate:$17.50 per hour

Important:Candidates must be comfortable working in fiberglass insulation production.

Position Summary

The Production Associate is an hourly position reporting to the Shift Supervisor. This role works at production presses, assists machine operators, removes parts from presses, separates parts from scrap, assembles parts, and stacks or packages finished products. The Production Associate may also operate equipment and perform other production-related tasks as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Work effectively in a team environment and ensure helpers understand their roles, required precautions, and the locations of emergency stop buttons.
  • Read and interpret company work orders and job control procedures.
  • Work efficiently and accurately to achieve and maintain production goals.
  • Request and gather necessary materials.
  • Assemble totes and prepare skids, bags, and boxes for packaging.
  • Package the specified number of parts on skids, in bags, boxes, or other designated containers.
  • Properly label and stack bags of parts on racks or in the appropriate packaging.
  • Move totes and skids of parts to storage areas or the next operation.
  • Ensure safety devices are in place and promptly report unsafe behavior or conditions.
  • Stay aware of activities in the surrounding work area.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Leader.
Job RequirementsSkills and Abilities
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure instructions, and blueprints.
  • Effective communication skills when working with coworkers, supervisors, and management.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to use a tape measure.
Education and Experience
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8–12 hours at a time.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and turn.
  • Full use of both hands to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring close and distance vision.
  • Regular work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to work safely in a fiberglass insulation production environment.
