Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical integrity, safety, and overall appearance of the 266-unit BRAND NEW Apartment Community in Racine. This role ensures that all service requests, preventative maintenance, and repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard, contributing to resident satisfaction and asset preservation.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Complete service requests in a timely and professional manner (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, etc.)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues with minimal supervision
- Perform unit turns, including inspections, repairs, painting, and cleaning coordination
- Maintain common areas, amenities, and exterior grounds
Preventative Maintenance
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programs (HVAC, water heaters, fire systems, etc.)
- Conduct routine inspections of building systems and report deficiencies
- Assist in maintaining maintenance logs, work orders, and compliance records
Emergency Response
- Participate in on-call for after-hours emergencies
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues, including water leaks, power outages, and safety concerns
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA standards and company policies
- Maintain awareness of Fair Housing requirements when interacting with residents
- Identify and report safety hazards or code violations
Resident Interaction
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents
- Communicate clearly regarding maintenance timelines and expectations
- Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in multi-family housing or related field preferred
- Working knowledge of:
- Plumbing systems
- Electrical systems
- HVAC (EPA certification preferred)
- Appliance repair
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Valid driver’s license required

- Full-time position with rotating on-call responsibilities
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and emergency situations as needed
