Overview

The Manufacturing Information Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and integrating manufacturing software platforms that connect production operations with business-critical systems. This role plays a key part in helping customers leverage real-time data, process automation, and operational intelligence to drive informed decision-making and improve plant performance.

Summary

We are seeking a software engineering professional with experience developing manufacturing information systems, HMI applications, and industrial software solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in SCADA, databases, industrial networking, and system integration, along with the ability to work independently, solve complex technical challenges, and contribute to customer-focused automation projects from concept through deployment.

Responsibilities

Design and implement manufacturing information systems, SCADA platforms, and HMI applications for industrial environments.

Develop software solutions that integrate PLC-based control systems with plant-level and enterprise applications.

Configure and deploy manufacturing platforms including Rockwell FactoryTalk, Ignition, Wonderware ArchestrA, Siemens, and similar technologies.

Develop and maintain database-driven applications supporting production monitoring and reporting.

Integrate manufacturing systems with MES, ERP, quality management, traceability, OEE, and process monitoring solutions.

Design and support industrial communication architectures utilizing Ethernet/IP and related industrial networking technologies.

Develop software applications using C#, .NET, SQL, and related programming tools.

Troubleshoot, test, and optimize manufacturing applications to ensure reliability and performance.

Collaborate with customers, project teams, and engineering stakeholders to define requirements and deliver successful solutions.

Create and maintain technical documentation, system designs, and implementation specifications.

Support project execution activities from design and development through commissioning and startup.

Contribute technical expertise and provide recommendations for system improvements and future enhancements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

4+ years of experience designing and implementing manufacturing information systems, SCADA solutions, and HMI applications.

Experience with industrial software platforms such as Rockwell FactoryTalk, Inductive Automation Ignition, Wonderware ArchestrA, Siemens, or similar manufacturing information systems.

Experience designing and configuring HMI solutions, including Rockwell PanelView and comparable operator interface platforms.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing system integration, including MES, ERP, OEE, quality management, process monitoring, and traceability applications.

Experience working with SQL Server, Oracle, or other enterprise database technologies.

Proficiency with Microsoft .NET, C#, SQL, and database-driven application development.

Knowledge of Ethernet/IP and other industrial communication protocols and networks.

Understanding of PLC-based control systems and industrial automation architectures.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a customer-facing environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated interest in growing into a technical leadership or subject matter expert role within industrial automation and systems integration.

Manufacturing, industrial automation, process control, or systems integration industry experience preferred.
