Heavy Equipment Operator II

Position Overview:

Under general supervision, responsible for curbside collections from the right of way in residential and city streets. Commercial driver license operator of heavy equipment for the purpose of collection and transporting curbside and solid waste materials to the landfill and reports to the Waste Management Supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School Diploma and one (1) year of job-related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Valid SC Driver's License.
• South Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Comments/Special Qualifications Required:

Lead operator for the curbside collections division. Manages and maintains collections, transports and disposes debris materials from city right of ways. Keeps streets and right of ways free of debris materials; assists with other department duties as required. Works under limited supervision to ensure efficient waste collections while providing a safe work environment. Candidate must possess a Commercial Drivers License, High School diploma or GED equivalent.
