Material Handler

Location: Lancaster, OH
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Pay: $20.00/hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Material Handlerto support operations in the Corrugator department. This position is responsible for operating and overseeing the baler, shredder, and sorting areas, separating good product from damaged product, and feeding materials into the shredder for recycling.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor the baler, shredder, and sorting equipment.
  • Sort good product from damaged product.
  • Feed materials into the shredder for recycling.
  • Read and understand waste tickets and bale tickets.
  • Identify good board versus damaged or defective board.
  • Follow product routing procedures throughout the plant.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Identify and report workplace hazards.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and productive manner.
  • Learn and understand machine controls and their functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and understand production orders, waste tickets, and bale tickets.
  • Ability to distinguish good product from damaged product.
  • Ability to learn machine controls and safe operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Dependable attendance and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, recycling, or machine-operating experience is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Occasionally lift 30–50 pounds.
  • Occasionally push and pull materials.
  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Bend frequently.
  • Frequently twist and kneel.
  • Frequently perform single-hand grasping.
  • Work safely in a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment

This is a production-floor position that may involve machinery, cardboard materials, noise, and dust. Required PPE must be worn, and employees are expected to maintain a clean and safe work area.
