Job Description

This role focuses on assembling specialized dispensing equipment used to spray liquid adhesives and foams across a wide range of industries, including automotive, agriculture, food and beverage, consumer products, and more. The Assembly Associate supports production by building sub-assemblies and complete machines, preparing and tracking parts, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

• Assemble dispensing equipment and related sub-assemblies according to blueprints, electrical diagrams, and work instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and written work instructions to perform accurate and efficient assembly tasks.
• Operate, monitor, and perform basic maintenance on production and assembly equipment as required.
• Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, gauges, and test equipment to complete assembly work.
• Safely operate material handling equipment such as power lifts and, when required, tow motors to move parts and finished products.
• Prepare parts for assembly, including labeling, organizing, and moving components to designated areas.
• Track parts and materials throughout the assembly process to ensure accurate inventory and efficient workflow.
• Inspect assembled components and finished equipment to verify quality and conformance to specifications.
• Record and report quality findings, issues, and improvements in accordance with established procedures.
• Follow all safety guidelines and housekeeping procedures to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
• Adhere to production schedules and administrative procedures, including documentation and reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to enhance existing assembly and production processes and share improvement ideas with the team.
• Communicate effectively with leaders and team members to coordinate work, resolve issues, and support a collaborative team environment.

Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of assembly experience, which may include automotive or similar mechanical assembly environments.
• Demonstrated ability to use wrenches and other common hand tools in a production or assembly setting.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and basic electrical diagrams.
• Comfort using computers for tasks such as viewing work instructions, entering data, and tracking production information.
• Experience working with hand and power tools, measuring tools, gauges, and basic test equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with production assembly processes.
• Basic electrical understanding sufficient to follow diagrams and perform related assembly tasks.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks associated with production and assembly work.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with leaders and coworkers.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with valves or wiring in an assembly or production environment.
• Experience in mechanical assembly or assembly line work.
• Blueprint reading skills beyond basic level, including interpreting detailed mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Experience in production environments where quality tracking and reporting are part of daily responsibilities.
• Familiarity with operating power lift equipment and tow motors for material handling.
• Comfort working with computer-based production systems and documentation.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large, well-lit, clean, and climate-controlled facility designed for comfort and efficiency. Sub-assemblies are built in the central area of the building, while warehouse and shipping activities take place toward the back and in a dedicated back room. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., averaging around 40 hours per week, with openness to occasional Saturday work as needed. The environment supports hands-on work with tools and equipment, clear workspaces, and organized material flow throughout the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wixom, MI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
