Foreman

The Vacuum Truck Foreman Supervisor leads field crews performing vacuum excavation, hydrovac operations, industrial cleaning, utility daylighting, tank cleaning, and related industrial services. This role oversees daily field operations, ensures strict adherence to safety requirements, coordinates jobsite activities, manages equipment and personnel, and serves as the primary customer contact on projects across the East Coast. The position involves extensive regional travel and frequent overnight stays, requiring a hands-on leader who can effectively guide crews, maintain equipment readiness, and deliver high-quality service in demanding field conditions.

• Lead and supervise field crews performing vacuum excavation, hydrovac operations, industrial cleaning, utility daylighting, tank cleaning, and related industrial services.
• Oversee daily jobsite operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as the primary customer contact on assigned projects, maintaining clear communication, addressing concerns, and representing the company professionally on site.
• Coordinate jobsite activities, including project scheduling, crew assignments, and task prioritization to meet project deadlines and performance goals.
• Manage vacuum trucks, hydrovac units, and related heavy equipment, ensuring proper operation, inspection, and readiness for field work.
• Provide strong jobsite safety leadership, promoting OSHA standards, confined space safety, excavation safety, and overall safe work practices for all crew members.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies related to transportation, equipment operation, and driver requirements.
• Review and interpret site plans and utility locate information to plan safe and effective excavation and daylighting activities around underground utilities.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting and basic equipment inspections to identify issues and support timely maintenance or repair.
• Monitor work quality and productivity, providing coaching and direction to crew members to improve performance and maintain high service standards.
• Support project documentation and reporting as required, including jobsite notes, safety documentation, and communication with operations leadership.
• Travel extensively throughout the East Coast and manage crews during frequent overnight stays, maintaining consistent leadership presence in the field.
• Foster a positive team environment, demonstrating strong leadership and conflict resolution skills to maintain effective and safe crew operations.
• Adapt to fast-paced operational demands, responding to changing jobsite conditions, schedules, and customer needs while maintaining safety and quality.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience with vacuum trucks, hydrovac operations, industrial cleaning, or utility construction.
• At least 2+ years of experience supervising field crews in construction, utility, or industrial service environments.
• Hands-on experience with construction and vacuum truck / hydrovac operations.
• Strong knowledge of industrial cleaning, hydro excavation, and vacuum excavation practices.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with Class A or B preferred.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
• Jobsite safety leadership experience, including familiarity with OSHA standards, confined space safety, and excavation safety.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans and utility locate information for safe work around underground utilities.
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience performing equipment inspections on vacuum trucks and related heavy equipment.
• Proven crew leadership and field supervision abilities, including scheduling and coordinating crews and projects.
• Customer-facing communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients on job sites.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the East Coast and stay overnight frequently as required by project schedules.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills in a field-based, fast-paced environment.

• CDL Class A or B with tanker endorsement preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• NCCCO or other relevant equipment certifications preferred.
• Experience working around underground utilities in construction or industrial settings.
• Experience supporting utility, infrastructure, pipeline, rail, energy, or industrial projects.
• Experience with hydro excavation and air excavation technologies.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and related compliance requirements.
• Experience with project scheduling and crew coordination in field operations.

This role is primarily based in outdoor, field-focused environments on construction, utility, industrial, energy, and infrastructure project sites. Work involves extensive travel throughout the East Coast, with frequent overnight stays to support multi-day projects. The position requires working in varying and sometimes harsh weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow, while maintaining safe and productive operations. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with close interaction with crews, heavy equipment, and vacuum trucks on active job sites.

This is a Contract position based out of Chester, Virginia.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
