Duties may include, but not limited to:

• Assisting in identified aspects of food preparation

• Handling food and equipment responsibly according to sanitation policies and procedures

• Delivering food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas as instructed by supervisor

• Providing an enhanced dining service, serving meals in dining rooms and preparing and delivering snacks as directed

• Assisting in daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures

• The dietary aide is responsible for cleanliness of work areas, sanitary handling of food, equipment, and utensils and for processing the requests of residents accurately.

• Above all, ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes rights

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED Required

• Safe-Serve Certification Required

• Previous food service aide experience is helpful

• Possess working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food and sanitation practices relating to food handling

• Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified and serve food in an appetizing manner

• Possess the ability to positively interact with everyone from residents to government agencies and the general public

• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.

Physical Requirements:Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet, stand on feet for more than 6 hours a day. (Not a complete list)

Preferred Skills:Dietary experience in a long-term care setting preferred, but not required.
