Our main office is located in Fort Wayne but we are looking for a qualified candidate in the Warsaw area. This is a field based position.

Job Overview

Commercial Builders & Maintenance (CBM) is looking for an experienced Building Maintenance Technician to support commercial and healthcare facilities in the Warsaw, Indiana area.

This is a full-time opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in solving problems, and wants the independence to manage day-to-day maintenance needs while being supported by an experienced team.

This is not a position where you will do the same thing every day.

You will work across commercial and healthcare facilities performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, completing repairs, responding to service needs, and helping our clients keep their facilities safe, reliable, and operating at a high level.

As a CBM Building Maintenance Technician, you will be a trusted resource for our clients and play an important role in keeping their facilities operating properly. You will have the opportunity to use your mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills across a variety of building systems while working in professional commercial and healthcare environments.

Healthcare experience is preferred; however, we also want to hear from experienced commercial maintenance professionals who have the technical ability, professionalism, and willingness to learn the requirements of healthcare environments.

What You'll Do:

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance at commercial and healthcare facilities
• Troubleshoot and repair building and mechanical systems
• Perform general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building repairs within applicable qualifications and licensing requirements
• Inspect facilities and identify potential problems before they become larger issues
• Diagnose maintenance issues and determine appropriate solutions
• Read and work from schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints
• Respond to client maintenance and service requests
• Coordinate with CBM management, subcontractors, and client representatives when needed
• Work safely and professionally in occupied commercial and healthcare environments
• Document completed work and communicate outstanding maintenance needs
• Help us deliver the level of responsiveness and service our clients expect from CBM

Qualifications:

• Required: Previous building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or commercial property maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Previous field service or customer-facing maintenance experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of commercial building systems, construction practices, and safe maintenance procedures.
• Previous experience in healthcare or medical facilities, including familiarity with infection-control practices and working in occupied medical environments, is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple service needs, communicate effectively, and make sound decisions in the field.
• A proactive approach to maintenance with a focus on identifying and resolving problems before they impact the client.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, if required for the position
• Professional communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to work safely in occupied commercial and healthcare environments
• Ability to use a mobile phone or tablet to receive, document, and close out work order

Service Area:

This is a field-based position primarily serving client facilities in Warsaw, Indiana and the surrounding area. Daily travel between assigned client facilities is required.

This position does not require the technician to report to Fort Wayne each morning.

Company vehicle provided and may be taken home.
