Position Overview
A growth-oriented, multi-disciplined company is seeking a Commercial HVAC Sales Representative to support sales objectives by developing and selling mechanical service solutions to commercial customers.
This position will focus on securing HVAC service work, system replacements, retrofits, new installations, and preventive maintenance contracts. The representative will be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying opportunities, preparing pricing and proposals, and coordinating projects with service technicians and dispatch teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new commercial client relationships and maintain existing customer accounts.
- Identify and develop new sales leads and business opportunities.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers through regular communication and responsive service.
- Understand customer HVAC/mechanical needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Work with customers to develop and quote new HVAC system installations, replacements, and retrofit projects.
- Prepare proposals, pricing, and margins in accordance with company requirements.
- Sell mechanical service solutions, preventive maintenance agreements, replacements, and retrofit projects.
- Manage service and quoted projects from initial opportunity through completion.
- Coordinate sales activities with technicians, service teams, and dispatchers.
- Provide technical and routine support to customers and internal service teams.
- Meet established sales and gross-margin objectives.
- Manage multiple projects and customer opportunities simultaneously.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Follow all company safety policies and maintain high safety standards.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems.
- Previous HVAC experience or equivalent technical education.
- Proven track record of generating sales through self-developed leads.
- Experience with commercial HVAC/mechanical service sales is preferred.
- Ability to prepare estimates, pricing, and customer proposals.
- Experience using estimating software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to understand or develop HVAC system concepts, designs, and schematic drawings.
- Familiarity with applicable mechanical codes and standards.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong customer relationship-building skills.
