Position Summary

The Shift Leadis responsible forsupporting daily restaurant operations, leading crew members during assigned shifts, delivering exceptional guest experiences,maintainingfood quality standards, and ensuring the restaurantoperatessafely, efficiently, and profitably.

Shift Leads are working leaders who lead by example while activelyparticipatingin food preparation, guest service, cleaning, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Create a positive, respectful, and safe work environment for team members and guests.
• Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and strong work ethic.
• Direct and support crew members during assigned shifts.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure completion of daily checklists.
•Assistwith onboarding andtraining ofnew employees.
• Provide coaching and feedback to team members to improve performance and consistency.
• Communicate shift updates and operational concerns to management.

Operations

• Open and close the restaurant according to company procedures.
• Ensure all food, beverage, and operational standards are consistently followed.
•Monitorstaffing levels and workflow during peak business periods.
•Maintainaccurateshift notes and communicateimportant informationto management.
• Ensure all assigned tasks are completed before the end of each shift.
•Assistwith catering preparation and execution whenrequired.

Guest Experience

• Deliver exceptional guest service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Ensure all orders areaccurate, complete, and preparedtoPoke Northwest standards.
• Promote a culture of hospitality and community engagement.

Food Safety & Quality

• Prepare menu items according to company recipes andportionstandards, including commissary kitchen items
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, labeling, rotation, and sanitation procedures.
•Monitorproduct freshness and quality throughout each shift.
•Maintaincompliance with all health department regulations and food safety requirements.
• Ensure sushi-grade seafood, produce, and ingredients are handled according to company standards.

Cash Handling

• Follow all cash handling and deposit procedures.
• Process transactions accurately and responsibly.
•Maintainaccountability for drawers and shift reconciliation when assigned.

Cleanliness & Maintenance

•Maintainclean and organized workstations, dining areas, restrooms, and storage areas.
• Ensure opening, mid-shift, and closing cleaning procedures are completed.
• Report equipment issues or maintenance concerns to management promptly.

Requirements

•Previousrestaurant or food service experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
•Strong communicationand interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods andlift upto 50 pounds.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
