Medical Administrative Assistant (Part-time – see schedule specifics)

- Schedule:Part-Time, Rotating Shifts(Rotating days/hours including 5:30 AM – 1:30 PM on Saturdays, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM; rotating Saturdays and holiday coverage required)
- New Hire Starting Base Pay:$19.60 – $22.26 per hour (Starting salary placement is determined by direct laboratory accessioning, medical clerical, or administrative experience.)
- Future Earning Potential:Position salary range progresses up to $30.25 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and administrative career ladder advancement.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Education:High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience & Skills:Minimum(1) year of administrative support or medical clerical experience. Knowledge of general business processes and procedures.
- Systems Knowledge:Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), electronic mail, and calendar management.
- Customer Service & Communication:Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to answer, screen, and route incoming calls and coordinate with clinical lab staff and pathologists.
How You'll Make an Impact
- LIS Accessioning & Specimen Triage:Register, receive, triage, and accession patient specimens, slides, and materials into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) while adhering to strict turnaround-time deadlines.
- Specimen Processing Support:Assist with processing, packaging, and collecting laboratory specimens according to established testing specifications and clinical safety procedures.
- Pathology & Diagnostic Documentation:Transcribe clinical diagnostic data into LIS, make report edits per pathologist instructions, and review records to route consultative cases appropriately.
- Record Integrity & Office Support:Verify patient records and insurance billing status for accuracy, manage clerical files, order lab supplies, and maintain office equipment.
