Cmm Programmer

POSITION SUMMARY

The CMM Programmer performs first piece, in-process, and final inspections on complex components with tight tolerances, using both manual and automatic CMMs. This role requires strong CMM programming skills and a solid working knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure product conforms to blueprint tolerances and specifications. Accurate documentation of inspection results, and clear communication of findings to the team, are essential to this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write CMM programs

• Operate both manual and automatic CMMs

• Perform first piece inspections and provide feedback on findings and opportunities for improvement to the foreman

• Document all inspection results

• Identify, document, and report nonconforming product

• Calibrate gages

• Perform other inspection-related tasks as needed

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Ability to read complex blueprints and perform inspection layouts, including GD&T

• Strong computer literacy and proficiency

Preferred:

• Experience with CMM software such as PC-DMIS or Calypso

• ASQ certification (CQT, CQI, or similar) a plus

• Background in aerospace, defense, or precision machining

• Experience calibrating precision measurement equipment
