Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Forklift Operator to join our team on 2nd shift. This is an entry-level opportunity for an individual who is interested in warehouse and material handling work and is comfortable operating or learning to operate powered industrial equipment.
The Forklift Operator will assist with the safe and efficient loading, moving, lifting, and positioning of materials using powered industrial trucks and lifting equipment. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate powered industrial trucks and material-handling equipment to safely move, load, unload, lift, and position materials.
- Operate gasoline, diesel, electric, or propane-powered industrial trucks as required.
- Use forklifts and other lifting devices, including elevating platforms or buckets, when applicable to assigned duties.
- Safely transport materials throughout the warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Load and unload materials from designated areas, trucks, storage locations, and production areas.
- Inspect equipment before use and report any safety concerns, damage, or maintenance issues.
- Follow established operating procedures and all applicable safety requirements.
- Maintain awareness of pedestrians, equipment, materials, and surroundings while operating powered equipment.
- Properly stage and organize materials to support warehouse and production operations.
- Assist with general material handling and warehouse activities as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow company policies, PPE requirements, and workplace safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 0–1 year of previous experience preferred.
- Previous forklift or warehouse experience is a plus, but this position is suitable for entry-level candidates.
- Ability and willingness to learn safe operation of powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to safely perform physical material-handling duties.
