WE’RE HIRING: CNC OPERATOR
Burca Elevator & Metal Works Inc. is looking for an experienced and dependable CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team.
We are seeking someone who is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced steel fabrication and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machinery according to production requirements and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and measurements.
- Work with steel and other metal materials, understanding their basic characteristics and fabrication requirements.
- Load materials and properly position workpieces in CNC machines.
- Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and machine settings.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations required for fabrication and machining.
- Accurately work with fractions, decimals, dimensions, and measurements.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust when necessary.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.
- Identify and report machine malfunctions, tooling issues, or quality concerns.
- Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Work closely with the fabrication and production team to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating CNC machinery in a steel or metal fabrication environment preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of measurements and dimensional calculations.
- Ability to accurately perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to work confidently with fractions and decimals, including converting between them when necessary.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure, including fractional measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle materials associated with the position.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
