Receiving Inspector – Aerospace

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is looking for a Receiving Inspector to join an aerospace manufacturing team in Chatsworth, CA. This is a Temp-to-Direct Hire opportunity with excellent potential for someone looking to build a long-term career in aerospace quality.

Pay: $23.00–$24.00/hr DOE
Location: Chatsworth, CA

This is a developmental quality position designed for someone with 1–2 years of inspection, manufacturing, warehouse, or mechanical experience who wants to develop their skills in aerospace inspection and quality control.

You will receive training and hands-on experience with blueprint reading, precision measurement, inspection documentation, and aerospace quality standards. Working under the guidance of experienced quality professionals, you will learn how to verify incoming materials and hardware meet purchase order, drawing, and specification requirements.

What You'll Do

• Inspect incoming aerospace parts, materials, and hardware for visual and dimensional requirements
• Verify purchase orders against received materials
• Review Certificates of Conformance (COCs), material certifications, and test reports
• Perform measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauges
• Compare inspection results to engineering drawings and specifications
• Learn and apply basic blueprint reading and GD&T
• Document inspection results accurately in ERP systems and inspection records
• Maintain accurate quality documentation and product traceability
• Identify and properly label nonconforming material
• Escalate discrepancies or questions to senior quality personnel
• Maintain an organized inspection area and follow all safety and quality procedures

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–2 years of experience in inspection, manufacturing, warehouse, mechanical, or a related environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Basic understanding of measurement tools and techniques
• Comfortable using computers for data entry and documentation
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow written procedures and instructions
• Dependable, organized, and willing to learn
• Good communication skills and comfortable asking questions when clarification is needed
• Aerospace experience is a plus, but not required
• Quality control certification or technical coursework is preferred
