MIG Welder Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and skilled MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. The MIG Welder is responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to engineering drawings, quality standards, and production requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong welding skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety. Seeking 1st 2nd and 3rd shift roles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on steel, stainless steel, and other metal materials as required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and fabrication drawings.
- Set up and operate welding equipment and related fabrication tools.
- Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal components to specifications.
- Inspect welded assemblies to ensure quality, strength, and dimensional accuracy.
- Perform grinding, finishing, and minor fabrication tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.
- Identify and report equipment issues, material defects, or production concerns.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods.
- Frequently lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and welding fumes.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
Preferred Qualifications
- Welding certification from an accredited program.
- Experience with fabrication equipment such as saws, presses, and grinders.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus.
