Dispatcher

Broad & James Towing is looking for a dependable, organized, and customer-focused Dispatcher to join our team. We are a fast-paced towing company serving law enforcement agencies, commercial accounts, private property customers, and the general public throughout Central Ohio. This position is the communication hub of our operation. A good dispatcher needs to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, multitask, and make good decisions while keeping drivers moving efficiently. Job Responsibilities Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers professionally and courteously. Receive and accurately enter towing and roadside assistance calls. Dispatch tow truck operators based on location, equipment needed, availability, and priority. Communicate with drivers throughout each call and provide updated information when necessary. Work with police departments, law enforcement agencies, commercial accounts, repair facilities, insurance companies, and private customers. Accurately document vehicle, customer, location, and call information in our dispatching system. Monitor active calls and help keep response times as efficient as possible. Provide customers with basic information regarding towing, vehicle releases, impounds, pricing, and company procedures. Communicate important information between shifts, drivers, management, and office personnel. Handle multiple phone calls, radio communications, and computer tasks at the same time. Remain professional when dealing with upset, frustrated, or difficult customers. Follow Broad & James Towing policies and procedures. Perform other dispatch and office duties as assigned. Organized and able to prioritize calls effectively. Professional when dealing with customers and law enforcement personnel. Able to work independently while also being part of a team. Willing to learn the towing industry and the different types of equipment used for various situations. Experience Previous dispatching, towing, transportation, customer service, call center, or emergency-service experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate. We are willing to train someone who has the right attitude, work ethic, reliability, and ability to learn. Important This is not a slow-paced receptionist position. Our dispatchers may be handling multiple active calls, drivers, customers, police agencies, and incoming requests at the same time. Attention to detail and the ability to stay organized under pressure are extremely important.
